Making Memories

Our family memories – April

April was a fabulous month full of fun, bank holidays, chocolate and even a little sunshine!
My new part-time, term time job meant I had two and half weeks off with Thomas after only two weeks of starting my job. The first week of half term I was struck down with yet another cold but we made the most of it anyway, there is no stopping when you have a toddler!

Here are some of the things we got up to and the memories we made:

Dining

A lovely dinner with my best friend Emma and her husband Dino at Piccolinos, West Didsbury.
Date night at Belle Epoque. Steven’s sisters kindly bought him a voucher for an eight course taster menu with bubbly for two for his birthday. It was fabulous and very indulgent!

Drinking

Letting down my hair to celebrate my lovely Mummy friend Laura’s 30th birthday. We enjoyed a Cocktail Making Masterclass at The Alchemist, Spinningfields followed by dancing at Revolucion De Cuba.

Family days out

Making the most of the mini heatwave by visiting Lyme Park with my in-laws and their two Cockapoo dogs. We enjoyed gorgeous scenery, blue skies followed by tea and cake and a home-made cheese and onion pies at my in-laws afterwards. A lovely and very indulgent day.
Walking in the gorgeous sunshine at Etherow Park. We met Steven’s best friend and his two daughters there and enjoyed a lovely walk and fed the ducks.
Easter weekend was spent enjoying a lovely Family Fun Day Heaton Park with my in-laws and their dogs, the Manchester Markets were there so we enjoyed some freshly cooked food and Thomas loved the fairground mini rides.
A day out at Knowsley Safari Park, braving the baboon section (Steven’s car remained in tact!). Thomas loved seeing monkeys sat on Daddy’s car so it was worth it. We had a lovely day seeing the animals and the park  has a great foot safari and outdoor ride section.
Visiting Dovestones, one of our favourite local scenic spots. We hadn’t been for a while and vowed to do it more often as it’s so beautiful and really isn’t far. Thomas pretty much walked the whole route (almost 5k), impressive!

Retail therapy

Indulging in retail therapy at Cheshire Oakes Designer Outlet. We went to look for a bag for my birthday present and I was treated to a lovely Micheal Kors handbag by my lovely husband.
We also picked up some cute wellies and shorts from Joules for Tommy and enjoyed a tasty lunch at Pizza Express. It was so busy and total chaos being the bank holiday weekend. Shopping with a toddler is pretty stressful, hence why we don’t do it very often!
